If, for some reason, 1984 is made into a movie:
Winston must be played by Stephen Moyer.
Julia must be played by Emma Watson.
Don’t ask me why, I just think they’d be good. Especially Emma.
Emma’s a good choice for Julia, I think, but I don’t like Moyer for Winston - he’s too classically handsome. Personally I’d go Martin Freeman. After being Tim and Arthur and Bilbo, isn’t he the ultimate British everyman?
Moyer, however, would make a fantastic O’Brien, probably - though maybe it’s the newfound Sherlock love but I would kill to see Benedict Cumberbatch play a legitimate, manipulative villain like O’Brien . Also it would break the fandom’s dumb little slashy hearts to see him torturing Freeman, I bet. Slash annoys me… a lot sometimes.
(I bet the guy playing Moriarty would be great too but he’s not allowed to do that voice. It’s a really interesting choice for Moriarty, to be sure [look I’ve imbedded an Irish stereotype that probably none of you knew existed, LAWLS], but it would not work for O’Brien at all. At all.)
And then Emmanuel Goldstein and Big Brother have to be Jason Isaacs and Hugo Weaving just because.
